Typical dry riser installation in progress

construction of dry riser base within foundations dry riser vertical stack
The dry riser base is laid as soon as the foundations are ready for slabwork, enabling the builders to carry on building with little or no delays, as soon as is practicable the pipe work is installed from the inlet box to where the vertical stack is to be installed.

The pipe work is then installed vertically with an outlet on each floor until the top floor where an air release valve is fitted.
The inlet valve and outlet valve cabinets and valves are then fitted.

When the installation is finished, the dry Riser can then be commissioned where the whole system is tested with a full wet test to 10 bar in accordance with British Standards 9990/2006 once this has been carried out and everything is working properly a certificate is issued.
